Birmingham Pride – the UK’s largest 2-day LGBTQ+ festival – returns this year and is back bigger than ever. Taking place over the late May bank holiday weekend, the carnival parade commences the celebrations on Saturday 24th May at 12 noon from Victoria Square, and navigates through the City Centre before arriving at Hurst Street – the pinnacle of Birmingham’s Gay Village. From there, the two day Street Party begins, and festival-goers can enjoy an array of market stalls, streetfood courts, multiple music arenas and six stages with performances from Lady Leshurr, Mabel & many more. If that wasn’t enough, the event will also host a fabulous funfair and day-time activities which include creative workshops, acoustic sessions and film screenings. Finally, for those looking to enjoy the festivities late into the night, the village’s nightlife scene promises non-stop partying well into the early hours.
This year’s theme ‘Love Out Loud’, is celebrating our rights to love ourselves and one another, regardless of religion, race, gender or sexual identity #LoudAndProud.
