People from all across the UK are travelling to have a look for themselves at the giant superstore.
Birmingham’s Primark is the biggest of its kind in the world, it covers 161,000 sq ft over 5 floors and opened in April 2019. Travel companies have began to organise buses to run to the Midlands just so people can take a look for themselves at the mega-store.
The £70 million store has been welcomed by most, but Extinction Rebellion protesters, on the 14th July, danced on pink carpets outside the store on the days of the founders funeral in a reaction to the ‘fast fashion’ clothing that Primark sells.
People who took part in the protest danced around waving pink flags, and dancing on pink carpets as well as lying down on carpets outside the store.

One of the handwritten signs read: ‘Clothes swap! Bring a clothe you don’t wear anymore. Choose a clothe you like. Just swap it. Join XRFightFastFashion.
Despite protests, the company has 370 stores across 12 countries and employs over 75,000 staff.
Other fast fashion companies such as Boohoo have launched their first recycled fashion collection after the founder admitted they needed to acknowledge their responsibility to be a sustainable business.
The collection includes co-ord sets, going out dresses, bodysuits, crop tops, flares with prices ranging from £8-£25 and the business plans to offer more sustainable fashion alternatives in the near future.
