Selfridges Birmingham and Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery have teamed up to offer an in-store range of activities every Thursday between July 25 and August 29.
The scheme was put in place by the General Manager of Selfridges Birmingham after identifying how difficult it can be to entertain children for the whole six week holiday whilst many parent are at work and struggling for child-care.
The activities are designed to encourage creativity and let the children use their imaginations in a variety of both fun and educational activities.
Some of the activities on offer are science challenges, seeing historic artefacts close up, whilst also being able to take part in Duplo and LEGO challenges at LEGO Lab.
There are also scrap-booking and card-making workshops for the arty children and for those who prefer to combine art and tech can create wobble bots and draw bots.
Young, budding historians can take part in family challenges based on the 3000 years of Egyptian artefacts as well as a session allowing participants to get their hands on 10 specially selected objects from the collections.
