- Tattu, Barwick Street
This highly-anticipated contemporary restaurant has just opened it’s doors to the public in the Colmore Business District of the City Centre. Fusing traditional Chinese flavours with modern methods, Tattu offers a truly unique dining experience thanks to its Yin & Yang inspired interiors and exquisite plate presentations. Except floor-to-ceiling marble walls in the first-floor bar area; contrasting dark-but-feminine, oriental tones of the main basement restaurant; finished off with Tattu’s signature cherry blossom trees. It’s the latest addition to Birmingham’s culinary boom, so be sure to make a reservation!
- Siamais, Brindley Place
Situated in Oozells Square of Birmingham’s Brindleyplace, Siamais promises a real taste of Thailand through its menu inspired by Southeast Asian cuisine. Self-proclaimed as “the ideal place for a ‘dual’ night out”, the restaurant and cocktail bar is dedicated to delivering the best of both worlds. Offering over 40 cocktails – a mixture of classics & Siamais specialties; and an extensive food menu with an array of starters & mains, sure to leave you stuck for choice. As for the décor, birdcage seating booths, skulls in hanging baskets and a floral-adorned swing make for a sweet yet sinister aesthetic & of course, the perfect photo-op.
- Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill, The Cube @ Mailbox
Situated at the top of The Cube in the Mailbox, MPW’s Steakhouse offers spectacular 360 degree views across the city’s skyline. Delivering on fantastic food and a lively atmosphere, this restaurant is as much about the experience as it is the menu. Championed for the finest quality steaks, you can also pick from a selection of light soups, hearty burgers and fresh seafood, before walking off the calories on a nice stroll along the canals.
- Shogun Cube, The Cube @ Mailbox
Shogun Japanese restaurant – MPW’s neighbour at The Cube – specialises in Teppanyaki, noodles & sushi served by highly skilled chefs in an artistic & unique style. Bringing the kitchen and dining together, food is prepared on iron plates at your table – cooked right before your eyes. Expect to be thrilled and surely entertained as chefs interact with guests in the process through a fun, theatrical gastronomic experience; making a change from all those times you were told not to play with your food.
- Sky By The Water, Resorts World
Across the other side of town, is this spectacular rooftop bar & restaurant fronted by Head Chef Aaron Darnley of its formerly known Sky Bar. Re-opening just a month ago since its rebrand, Sky By The Water offers a refreshing twist on classic British & French cooking, all-day drinking & dining in a relaxed, stylish space with amazing views overlooking the Pendigo Lake at Resorts World.
- Legna, Summer Row
Acclaimed Birmingham chef, Aktar Islam’s latest project Legna, is fine dining Italian self-professed as “traditional and innovative in equal measure”. Expect not to find classic, comfort food on this à la carte, with a menu that changes seasonally & a tasting menu of smaller sized dishes. Inside is a truly luxurious experience, the space is decadent & sultry, with white apple blossom canopies and amber lighting to really set off the mood.
- Opheem, Summer Row
Facing each other on opposite sides of the street, Opheem is another one fronted by Aktar Islam – this time his take on Indian fine dining. Fusing the spices and traditional flavours of his Bangladeshi heritage with a contemporary edge, this restaurant is said to be raising the bar of the city’s dining scene. Opulence is a word that best describes the interior of this restaurant, with plate presentations so pretty you won’t want to eat off of them.
- Nocturnal Animals, Bennetts Hill
Placed inside a “playful & provocative” venue, Nocturnal Animals brings 80’s style to modern fine dining, through its ‘fun-spired’, immersive environment. The two-tier restaurant and bar offers an inventive menu inspired by Japanese cuisine to the soundtrack of 80s pop hits – quite the juxtaposition. It’s a very swanky venue, with neon lighting and bold prints. The food? Is said to be a culinary journey unlike any before.
- Gaucho, Colmore Row
The dining destination for the most premium Argentinian steaks & the finest wines in the city, Gaucho of Birmingham’s Business District is sleek sophistication with a warm welcome. . It’s casual yet elegant dining, fit with chic furnishings and cowhide fabrics which create nothing short of a lavish backdrop to accompany their impeccable dishes.
- The Ivy, Temple Row
If gourmet meals aren’t your thing (or your portion), The Ivy offers casual dining in an elegant & sophisticated setting. Serving up homey, British classics such as Shepard’s pie, salmon fishcakes and prawn curries in the comfort of a classy art-deco ambience. The Ivy is located just across from St. Philip’s Cathedral & is open from 8am to 11pm offering all-day menus which include Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner & Afternoon Tea. There is also a dedicated weekend brunch menu featuring some delicious alternatives to their mid-week à la carte, and an exclusive drinks menu including some classic favourites amongst The Ivy’s own creations.
